Originating from Nice in the Provence-Alps-Côte d'Azur region of France, Salade Niçoise is made from fresh ingredients and seasoned with olive oil, basil and garlic.
This traditional French dish will vary, chefs favouring certain ingredients over others but never using cooked vegetables.
Despite the variations it remains an extremely popular lunch dish during the summer months.
